clark howard and iced credit cards

One morning on Headline News a CNN news channel. Clark Howard told a man who had seventeen credit cards to put them in a freezer bag. Then fill the bag with water and freeze those cards. The idea behind it was that by the time he had to wait to use the cards that the impulse would have passed and he would not use the cards. This guy had 100,000 dollars in debt and Clark tells the gut just to freeze the cards. Not to cut them up and cancel the accounts because that would negatively effect his credit score. Bad Credit Score? That is the last thing that guys needs is more credit given out to him.

He did tell the guy to get on a lower than bologna budget and to see a credit counselor.

Instead of expecting people to take personal responsibility for their actions he is suggesting tricks so people don't have to let go of that credit card crutch.
